Dr. Gandy started his career in the field of emergency medicine and soon became the department chairman of Emergency Medicine Baylor Medical Center at Irving in 1986 and continued to serve until 1998. In 1996, Dr. Gandy co-founded T-System which is a software solution to help optimize emergency room coding which was successfully sold to Francisco Partners in 2010. Dr. Gandy still is a large shareholder in T-System and spends much of his time managing a portfolio of companies, investing and providing guidance as a board member for many portfolio companies.
