Dennis Dayman has over 30 years of experience in security and privacy, specializing in data governance, industry policy, regulatory relations, and technical solutions to protect and enhance data

Dennis Dayman most recently served as the Chief Information Security Officer at Constant Contact, where he led global risk and compliance, security operations, incident response, and both internal and external threat management and investigations. His tenure was marked by a strong commitment to protecting the organization's security posture. Unfortunately, as part of broader budget reductions driven by Private Equity ownership, multiple positions across the company were impacted, including his role.

Previously, he served as the Chief Information Security Officer at Code42, which was later acquired by Mimecast. He also worked as Proofpoint's Resident Chief Information Security Officer, supporting the pursuit of "people-centric security”, a crucial aspect of compliance for firms today, while collaborating with customers and prospects to enhance visibility and develop actionable strategies that prioritize people in effective compliance and defense measures.

Additionally, he served as Chief Privacy and Security Officer at both Maropost and Return Path. At Return Path, he leveraged his expertise and key relationships to establish best practices for the company and its customers while ensuring compliance with communication data flows. He also managed Return Path’s international electronic commerce, privacy, and internet-related policy issues. In 2019, Return Path was acquired by Validity.

Prior to Return Path, he was Eloqua’s Chief Privacy and Security Officer during a new transition for their investors to work on turning around the company with a new leadership. Eloqua became the leader in digital marketing when it invented and coined the first Marketing Automation platform, a real game-changer for marketers. Eloqua had a successful IPO and that same year was acquired by Oracle for $871 Million dollars in 2012. 

Dennis was appointed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary to the Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee (DPIAC), which advises DHS on programmatic, policy, operational, administrative, and technical issues related to personally identifiable information, data integrity, and other privacy matters. He also serves as the Chair of the Policy Subcommittee. Additionally, he was appointed as a U.S. Delegate for the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) within the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), contributing to the development of ISO/PC 317: Consumer Protection—Privacy by Design for Consumer Goods and Services, and is a Senior Commercial Advisor to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)

As a longstanding member of multiple boards and advisory committees in the advertising and messaging industry, Dennis has played a key role in shaping privacy, security, and anti-abuse policies. He was a founding member and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (M3AAWG). He has also served on the boards of the Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email (CAUCE) and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) advisory boards. Additionally, he has held leadership roles as Chairperson of the Email Sender and Provider Coalition (ESPC), now Chairperson Emeritus, and Chairperson of the Email Experience Council (EEC) MAC, also now Chairperson Emeritus. He has served on the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) Ethics Committee and has been recognized as a Fellow by both IAPP and the Ponemon Institute.

Actively involved in developing internet and digital communication regulations, privacy/security policies, and anti-spam legislation at both state and federal levels, Dennis also sits on several advisory boards for internet companies. Beyond his policy work, he is a partner, mentor, and frequent investor in startups, mentorship-driven micro-seed funds, and startup accelerators.

Dennis holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas.
