Dr. Duncan is an experienced investor and advisor in numerous early-staged deep-technology companies. He founded Orion Capital, LLC to invest primarily in health and life science companies. Dr. Duncan serves on multiple Board of Directors including CerSci Therapeutics, a Dallas-based company with a new generation of non-opioid medicines to treat acute post-operative and chronic neuropathic pain. He also serves on the Board of Directors and as Investment Officer of a private foundation primarily supporting early childhood education.

Prior to Orion Capital, Dr. Duncan advised faculty on new company formation at the University of Texas at Dallas - Venture Development Center. He has founded multiple companies including Syzygy Memory Plastics and Adaptive 3D Technologies, two materials science companies aiming to challenge cost and throughput of traditional plastic manufacturing.

Dr. Duncan received his PhD from Duke University in biomaterials science and engineering, followed later by an MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology, focusing on technology commercialization.
